MIAMI (Reuters) - A Florida teen charged with hiring an undercover policeman to shoot and kill his mother instructed the purported hitman not to damage the family television during the attack, police said.
Police in the southwestern Florida city of Fort Myers arrested the boy, 17-year-old Carlos Chereza, on Tuesday on a charge of soliciting to commit first-degree murder.
Tipped by an informant that Chereza had offered to pay to have his mother killed, an undercover detective posed as someone willing to do the job, Fort Myers police said.
Chereza offered the detective $2,000 that he expected to inherit from his mother's bank account, and gave him the keys to the family apartment, a map of the apartment and a picture of his mother, the police report said. He asked that the shooting be made to look like a burglary, it said.
"Carlos stated that he didn't want anything to happen to the television," the detective wrote in the arrest report.
Police arrested the teen immediately after the meeting with the detective, and the mother was unharmed. Police spokeswoman Kara Winton said the motive was related to domestic problems within the family, but declined to elaborate.

So what has been going on in the Curt land. (Boy, was that cheesy or what?) A big fat nothing. Well, that isn't entirely true. I have been working on my school work mostly. I have been very busy with it. I recently turned in one of my English projects. I wrote about it before, I originally was going to do it over "Liberal Agenda in Education", but I decided to expand on that and do it over "Teacher Education, Moral Education, Censorship in schools, and Parental involvement." All-in-all it ended up being 25 pages. The requirement was only 5-7 pages, but oh well. It is the quantity that counts not quality, or something like that.
I also have a computer science project coming up. The class I am in is CS177/CS477. It is a computer programming class over the language C++. I am enrolled in 177 because I am an undergrad, while grads are in the 477 class. It is the same class, the only difference is the 177 students, can do their project in groups while the 477 students have to do it individually. Well, I am the only 177 student in that class so I have to do it by myself. It is just something that I will have to figure out. It is a restaurant simulation.

1. What do you do for a living?
A living? Not really, but I do work in the University computer labs at NMSU.
2. What do you like most about your job?
I will be honest. It is easy. However, it is a lot of fun too. Plus it gives me the opportunity to do homework. Eventhough that isn't really what I am doing now.
3. What do you like least about your job?
The crazy hours sometimes. I don't like working both days of the weekend. I have to work 6 days a week, and since I have class on Friday that means I have to go to the university every single day. Next semester I will hopefully get better hours.
4. When you have a bad day at work it's usually because...
...I am just having a bad day period.
5. What other career(s) are you interested in?
Video game programming would be cool. I am interested in a lot of things, but I am pretty much destined to work with these little radiation emmiters.

What is it? It is a picture of me writing this post. (Is that what you call a paradox?)
