Some good advice at the end of this video.

These photos were taken at Ground Zero, the World Trade Center site in New York, on September 13, 2001.
They were taken by someone named "Ed" who was allowed into the area by a member of the emergency response crew, at a time when all civilians -- including most journalists -- were forbidden to enter the area.

Since I couldn't sleep I went ahead and got up and went to work. Why am I writing this post instead of doing any work, cause its like 4000 degrees here that's why. (Slightly cooler than my house.) In order to save energy the University turns the air off at night, so it takes a while for it to cool down.
In fact, over the 4th of July holiday (the 4th was closed, and we were also closed on the 3rd, a Monday), somebody got the bright idea to turn off the air an hour early. So where was I and everybody else? At home, an hour early. I swear if it gets any hotter, you can be scraping my melting butt off of the sidewalk, just like a frying egg. Oh, and you can't cook eggs on the sidewalk around here. The egg just evaporates as soon as the shell is broken. Go figure.

This car, manufactured by GM, has no mechanical linkages, no pedals, and generate enough electricity to power your entire street, all from salt water!

A little misleading as they get the Hydrogen the car runs on from salt water.

This is what is new:
- Smarty is now used throughout the entire site
- With that comes breadcrumbs. Now it should be easier to navigate.
- My Links, Programs, and Wallpaper have all been completely overhauled. Instead of static PHP pages, those are all run off a MySQL database. Make it easier for me to update, but it also allows me to add Tags, similiar to Flickr.
Any speed improvements? There should be some.
Also, take a look at the site's file sizes:
V3: 31.6 MB
V4: 31.0 MB
Not huge savings, but some.

I was driving back from lunch yesterday when this song was on the radio. Then when I left work, the same song was on the radio. The strange thing is, it was on the same line of the song. Hmm...

Wonder what it would be like to have Parts I and II of "Back to the Future" synched up on a split-screen during which both Marty McFlys are together?

I was also taking summer school for the month of June. No, not the bad kind, I didn't flunk anything. It was my choice, I took Physics. Now you are asking yourself, why would you choose physics. I'm stupid. No really, I was drunk. No, wait, I wanted to get it done and over with. Yeah, that's the one I am sticking with. So I don't know my grade yet, but I know I passed. I actually liked the class, it was a lot of hard math, well, not hard math. Easy algebra, it was just thinking of the correct ways to use the formulas. Problem solving skills. I think that is the only reason our department makes us take it. I'm not going to need to know how fast an object slides down a ramp with a certain kinetic friction coefficient when I program Microsoft Office 2010 am I?
Anyways between that and Grandma, posts have been scarce. Oh and the site has been down. I'm not mad at my old host or anything they have given me good service for over a year However downtime I just can't stand. Especially when Fred put me in his newsletter when it was down. As I promised Fred Langa's site is "[a] Free Site from Fred Langa Designed To Help You Get More From Your Hardware, Software, and Time Online."
Also, I have redesigned the Programs, My Links, and Wallpaper pages. Using Tags a la Flickr. I had fun with PHP and MySQL on those pages. You will also notice that just about every page has a breadcrumb on the top. I need to convert the Blog over to Smarty like the rest of the site, and then I will be done with version 3.0 of the site. Have I mentioned that I absolutely love Smarty. It's great. There are a couple things that I don't like though. For one, the caching doesn't work for my site cause the dynamic stuff like link rotator and random quote are cached. That isn't good. I wish they would add dynamic tags. I think they are going to in a future release. Then I could turn caching on and the site would be even faster. The other gripe I have with Smarty is that it is a little bloated. They have lots of features that you could just do with PHP on its own. Maybe they should have a lite version or something where you could turn off advanced features and therefore be able to not include library files that you are not using. That would be faster.
Wow, I hate catch-up posts. They end up being too long and nobody reads them anyways. Well, here it goes into the deep dark Internet Black Hole.
