When sign makers go on strike, is anything written on their picket signs?

In the process of moving servers, sorry for any weirdness.

MajorGeeks

Majorgeeks.com

The files added to MajorGeeks.com are not just at random and many programs never make it to our archives. We install and test the programs added here to make sure you are not wasting your time downloading a lousy program. We hope you enjoy the difference.

Old Version

Sometimes upgrading to a newer version can be a good thing. Other times, the story is different. Maybe your computer is not compatible with the new version or maybe you feel like the new version is bloated and all the good options were replaced.

For those times, there is OldVersion.com, an archive of old versions of various programs. If you are looking for an old version of GetRight, ICQ, or any other program, OldVersion.com should be your first stop.

The Portable Freeware Collection

This site is dedicated to the collection and cataloging of freeware that can be extracted to any directory and run independently without prior installation. These can be carried around on a memory stick / USB flash drive, or copied / migrated from PC to PC via simple copying of files. Hence the term portable freeware.

The definition of portable as it pertains to the site is:

  • It must be able to run from any directory you dump it in.
  • Settings should preferrably be stored in the same folder as the application.
  • It must not rely on any particular platform runtimes.

TinyApps

To qualify for TinyApps, a program must: Not exceed 1.44mb, Not be adware, Not require the VB/MFC/.NET runtimes, Work under at least Windows 9x (this does not apply to non-Windows apps, of course), Preferably be free, and ideally offer source code. Shareware will only be listed if there is no freeware alternative.
